About the Author

Are You Excited?
Are your ready to train for and complete a marathon? People just like you have had similar feelings. They have felt a void in their life and have awaken to the desire to tackle one of life's most difficult challenges. The next few months will not be easy. But, if you can maintain the discipline that millions of others like you have done, you too can cross the finish line. This Website is dedicated to helping the first-time marathoner become ready to take on the challenge. It really isn't all that hard. You need to get the right equipment, set the right plans, and then get out and start running!

What To Expect
The next few months will be some of the most amazing of your entire life. You may have never run before, or it may have been years since you last ran a few miles. But, let's get this out in the open right now. You can finish a marathon. I'm positive. It just requires that you set a plan and stick to it. You may be able to set a goal, start running, and finish a successful marathon in as little as four months. Or, you may injure yourself and have the process take a year or more; those injuries happen to everyone, including the pros. Either way, if you set goals and hold yourself to constant improvement, I know that you can do it.

One Book to Acquire
It is my hope that this Website serves as an excellent starting point for you. I would also like to recommend the book and author that got me through my first marathon. The name of the book is Marathon: The Ultimate Training Guide and the author is Hal Higdon. I highly recommend both his books, and his Website -- they are excellent for the runner in all of us.
